Monday, February 25, 2019 – Gregg McKenzie, “Making Placer Legacy Focused” and Ryan Ronco, Placer County Election Registrar will report on “Senate District 1, March 26, 2019, Special Election”

Gregg McKenzie is the Administrator of the Placer County Conservation Program (PCCP) based in Placer County’s Community Development Resource Agency. The PCCP is a proposed multi-species Habitat Conservation Plan and Natural Community Conservation Plan covering more than 200,000 acres in Western Placer County. The PCCP also proposes to integrate wetlands and other waters of the U.S., State, and Placer County under the Western Placer County Aquatic Resources Program.
Gregg has had a diverse career including positions as Principal Planner in the Governor’s Office of Planning and Research, Chief Financial Officer and Partner in Sierra View Landscape, Inc. DBA Restoration Resources, and Corporate Director of Government and Regulatory Affairs for the Del Webb – Pulte Home Corp.
Gregg has served as an appointed public official as a City of Rocklin Planning Commissioner for the past twelve years, as a Placer County Fish and Game Commissioner, and in various volunteer roles including Treasurer of the Placer Land Trust. In his spare time Gregg is an eighteen time Iron man Triathlon finisher and avid fly fisherman.
Ryan Ronco is Placer County’s clerk-recorder-registrar of voters. Hired by the Placer County Elections Office in 1993, he was appointed to the position by the Placer County Board of Supervisors in May of 2016 and was elected by the voters in June of 2018. The department has a budget of $10 million and employs a full-time staff of 51.
Ryan has lived in Placer County since 1976. He grew up in Loomis and attended Sierra College before graduating from Sacramento State with a Bachelor of Arts degree in government. In his spare time, Ryan likes to read, play ice hockey and goof around with his kids, Samantha and Jack.
