Steve Baker, Operation Unite “Change Is Coming and We Will Be Ready”

We will be discussing climate change from the current status (a planet perspective) to California’s normal conditions experienced during the last centennial period followed by identifying the expected dysfunction to our own communities in the foothills and our needed responses. Stephen Baker’s professional career in water started in Denver, Colorado with experiences developing municipal and industrial groundwater supplies and evaluating and remediating soil and groundwater pollution problems. His work continued in his own environmental consulting firm that operated for 29 years in California. Steve has added to his credentials as a California and Washington Registered Geologist and Certified Hydrogeologist with radio programming such as “Water is a Many Splendid Thing”, an internet radio program called “Conversations” and the “Meet Your Mentor” series. Interviews have taken Steve across the U.S. and India. He was awarded the National Groundwater Association’s “Special Recognition Award” in 2012 for his commitment to the groundwater industry and community through involvement and achievement at local or regional levels. He later was honored with the Broadcast Achievement award in 2014 and 2017 for comprehensive water news at the KVMR radio station. He was selected as a recipient of the American Institute of Professional Geologist (AIPG) Section Leadership Award for 2015 and currently serves on the advisory committee of the 2019 AIPG executive committee.
