Placer Fish and Game Commission supports fish transport
The Placer County Fish and Game Commission has sent a letter to the Placer County Board of Supervisors supporting fish transfer as a temporary amelioration to the barrier posed to salmon by the Hemphill dam. They additionally request the Placer Board of Supervisors to make clear that fish transfers by volunteers is a high priority project and a part of the Placer County Conservation Plan. The Board is also requested to petition the key government agencies, the California Department of Fish and Wildlife or the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration which would have to be lead agencies for an emergency salmon transfer project.
