Board of Supervisors approves salmon study
As reported Veronica Blake, CEO of Place Community Foundation in Gold Country Media, The Board of Supervisors has approved funding for
William Jessup’s Institute of Biodiversity and the Environment (IBE),
“the program is now primed to launch a new research study to support and restore the steelhead and chinook salmon populations in western Placer County’s Raccoon Creek, Doty Creek and Auburn Ravine.
This certainly is a win for the health of our watershed, but it is also offering far-reaching benefits our whole community should know about and be celebrating. What’s remarkable about the IBE study is it is connecting the efforts of local students, professionals and policymakers to serve the best interests of our environment, economy and smart development in the county.”
